Dear students:
I've been going through a hard time deciding who would be the winners of this year's best project. I like every of your projects very much, and I believe all of you have made a lot of efforts working on this assignment, but I still have to select one (only one)group to be the best one, as I announced earlier. So, after several painful, sleepless nights, I've made my decision now. The prize will go to Group 1, who wrote about "Anticancer Food." Congratulations to Anny, Vivian, and Jamie!

(Tentative) Drafts for College Stress
Please copy your freewriting draft as soon as you can.
(Judy)Academic stress is common because most students do not make good use of their time. They may spend a lot of time surfing the Internet, indulging in playing computer games, going out with their friends and so on. Furthermore, some students have the habit of skipping class or they like to sleep in class. Third, some students have to make effort on their clubs. Therefore, when examination approaches, they may have to burn the mid-night oil to prepare. As a result, they are probably to get bad grades and even fail the class.
In addition to academic stress, the student often feels financial pressure. Many parents may consider their children to be adults and they have already had the ability taking a part-time job to earn money. Thus, they may cut down the amount of monthly allowance. Second, it is easily for college students to spend a large amount of money at a time. They may go traveling or go shopping with their friends but usually they are unwilling to let their parents know.
Along with academic and financial worries, the students face personal pressures, for example, from their peer. The life in college is quite different from life in high schools. Students no longer have all courses together. Sometimes they may have to take a class with someone he doesn’t know and he is forced to learn how to interact with a “stranger” from other department. Especially in the first year,
(Anny)
Jack’s heart pounds as he casts panicky looks around the classroom. He doesn’t recognize the professor, he doesn’t know any of the students, and he can’t even figure out what the subject is. In front of him is a test. At the last minute his roommate awakens him. It’s only another anxiety dream. The very fact that dreams like Jack’s are common suggests that college is a stressful situation for young people. The causes of this stress can be academic, financial, and personal.
Academic stress is common,
She is used to stay up late, and then can’t wake up early the next day. Therefore she just skip the class and kept on sleeping. She feels guilty for missing learning, but she was beaten by her laziness. She always think she doesn’t have enough time to study, but she can’t figure out why. Every day when she finish her errands, there isn’t much time left. However, she cannot study for too late, or she won’t be able to get up early the next morning.
In addition to academic stress, the student often feels financial pressure,
She likes to get online and surf the Internet, especially on shopping web sites. Not living at home makes her shopping budget infinite. She can only manage her money with her reason. However, when she found out she doesn’t have enough money, she will have to eat less and have cheap meals, because she doesn’t want to tell her family the situation and ask them for more money. She thinks she should be independent and be able to manage her finance problems by herself.
Along with academic and financial worries, the student faces personal pressures,
She doesn’t have much friends, or to be accurate, she doesn’t have friends in school. She goes everywhere alone. She wants a friends to be her best friend, and they can go everywhere together. They can go have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. They can go shopping together. They can live together so they can go to school together everyday. They can share each other the deep feelings unreserved. They know every thing about each other. However, that can only happen in her past and imagination. She feels lonely even if she’s in the middle of the class, surrounded by a lot of people. She always hope that someone would talk to her.

Announcement: Winners of 2009 Best Blog Contest!!
Dear all:
Here I announce the winners of NCHU 2009 Best English Blog Contest (nerve-racking moment!! sweating right now!!):
Jamie (Wows), Angela (cheers), and, and ~~~ Jane (applauds)!!!
The winners'll get 5 extra points added to their composition score. Congratulations!! Because of their outstanding work, they really deserve the bonus!!
To be honest, this contest is very competitive, and, as everyone has only one vote, several nice blogs are left out from the final list. That's really a pity. In order to encourage those who have worked hard for this assignment, I decided to give "special bonus" to four bloggers for their excellent work. Eiger, Marshall, Claire & Riki--you are chosen to be the recipients of the special bonus--because some of your classmates selected you as the best, and I like your blogs too.
Ain't I generous like Santa?

Dear students, post regularly!!
I would like to remind you all to post your blog entries regularly and punctually. (I know you are busy recently, but being punctual is part of your responsibility as a student.) Now, let me announce again that you should post your entries by Friday 12 P.M. so that your partners can respond by Monday.
By the way, you are supposed to submit SEVEN entries by the end of this Friday (12/04). Our beautifual assistant will help me make a note of those who haven't done their work as required. (She will also respond to your posts from time to time.) So I urge you to GET THE JOB DONE as soon as you can, OTHERWISE . . . . (You know what will happen!)
Note: This is NOT a warning to make you stressed, but a "well-meant" notice to push you through job unfinished!! Enjoy your blogging!
